๐Students will be responsible for purchasing their own glazes (prices ranging $15-and up for 1 pint) You do not need glaze until the last class we’ll go over glazes in class.
Wheel throwingClass Description: Students will learn beginner wheel throwing techniques wedging, centering, pulling walls. Students will learn how to create basic shapes such as; cylinders, bowls, vases. Students will keep their best pieces. Wheel throwing students will get free access to the studio to practice their throwing skills (schedule with instructor) 4 week and 6 week Students
Hand BuildingClass Description: This beginner hand-building class introduces students to creating pottery without using a wheel. You’ll learn how to shape clay using traditional hand-building techniques while exploring both functional and decorative forms. Students will be introduced to slab construction, along with press molding, hump and slump molds, sprigging (appliqué), carving, and texturing and impression techniques. Instruction will focus on proper clay handling, joining, shaping, and surface design.
No prior experience is required. 4/6 week class is perfect for first-time clay students or anyone wanting a relaxed, creative introduction to ceramics. Students will complete 4-6 finished pieces ready for firing and gain a strong foundation for future pottery classes.
